Gary Wayne Lewis, Sr. 62, of Robbins, NC, passed away on February 9  , 2014,

The Memorial service will be held at Victory Baptist Church, Seagrove, NC on Feb. 22, 2014 at 11:00 am. Rev. Keith Miller of Clayton, NC and Rev. Robbie Stephens of Shallotte, NC will be officiating. Burial will follow the Service in the church cemetery. Family will receive Friends after the Service in the Fellowship Hall.

Gary was born in Moore County on December 4, 1951.  He graduated from North Moore High School and then enlisted in the National Guard where he served his country.

Gary worked as a Mix Room Operator for Energizer Battery Company for 30+ years. Gary also worked at the North Carolina Zoological Park as a Tram Operator and Landscape Curator. He enjoyed Flea and Antique markets, the beach, traveling, and outdoor activities. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Everette Lewis, Sr. and his mother, Dixie Lassiter Lewis; and his wife Wanda Kay Lewis.

Gary is survived by his wife, Terri G. Lewis of Robbins; son, Jay Lewis (Kelly) of Seagrove; daughter, Carrie Ann McNeill (Chris) of Seagrove; brother, Gene Lewis (Cathy) of Robbins; sister, Gwen Pickle (Robert) of Robbins.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Brenner Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society.

The family of Gary Wayne Lewis, Sr. wishes to thank everyone for the prayers, phone calls, and visits during this difficult time. Gary will be missed greatly but we know that we will see him again in Heaven.
