Helen Irene Williams

Helen Irene Hussey Williams of 1711 Needham Grove Road, Robbins, NC passed away on November 26, 2016, age 89 years, 11 months and 6 days, while in the loving care of FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.  No better care could have been given.  We praise the services of FirstHealth Hospice and all of their loving and caring nurses and staff.  Helen's 90th birthday would have been December 20, 2016.

  Helen was the daughter of the late George Oscar Hussey and  Glenna Williams Hussey and the wife of Foy E. Williams (66 years of marriage) who passed away in January of 2015.

  She is survived by one son, Roger E. Williams of Southern Pines and one sister, Betty H. Key of Robbins, sister in law, Judy Welch Hussey of Robbins, sister in law Ruth Williams Hussey of Robbins, sister in law Mae Williams of Newport News, Virginia and brother in law Winford Williams and wife, Phyllis of Robbins.  As well, Helen is survived by many, many nieces and nephews who she loved and dearly cherished.

  For the sake of Genealogy:  Helen was the great granddaughter of the locally famous James Goodwin (Goodin) Hussey and Mary Polly Yow, who were the progenitors of all of the Hussey Clan and the great granddaughter of E. Terrell Williams and LJ (Sis) Powers who were the same for the local Williams Clan.  If you have Hussey or Williams DNA, she surely was your cousin.  Generations of our family are memorialized with their final resting place in the Smyrna UMC Cemetery.

  Helen was the first born of nine children.  She is preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Ann Hussey (1944), Stephen Allen (Sonny) Hussey (1965), Colon Clay (Tim) Hussey (1990), Sarah Ethleen Hussey Luck (2006), Mazie A. Hussey White (2010) and Kathleen Hussey Marley (2013) and Tommy Roger Hussey (2014).

  She is also survived by a wonderful and loving Church family at Smyrna United Methodist Church where she was a long time member.  She indeed loved her church and church family who were wonderful brothers and sisters and friends.

  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Smyrna United Methodist Church, 203 Smyrna Church Road, Robbins, NC  27325. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00pm - 2:00pm in the sanctuary and at the home beginning on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
