John Frederick Grimm, age 79, died Thursday (May 16, 2013) at the VA Medical Center in Durham.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Ussery officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:30.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Herman H. Grimm and Katherine Pickard Grimm. A US Army veteran he owned and operated Grimm Heating and Air Conditioning Service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: brothers Herman Grimm and Julian Grimm.
Survivors include three sons; Freddie Grimm and wife, Jenny of N. Augusta, SC; David Grimm and wife, Robin of Greenville, SC; and Mark Grimm of Carthage; a sister, Margaret Perley, of Bumpass, VA; and five grandchildren, Frederick, Jennifer, Jonathan, Lacy and Caroline.
