Julia Goodall Looney, age 77 of Southern Pines died Sunday (May 4, 2008) at her residence.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Thursday at Fair Promise United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Ken Buckingham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Cumberland County she was a daughter of the late Willaim Christian Goodall and Virginia Paschal Goodall. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Marshall Looney and her brother William "Bill" Goodall. She was a member of Fair Promise United Methodist Church and was a member of DAR. She attended Florida State University and was active in various Bridge clubs.
She is survived by: her son John Looney and wife Gloria Maria Monsalve of Southern Pines and Panama; sister Virginia McCandless of Moss Point, MS; grandchildren Shannon Caraway of Cincinnati, OH and Christian T. Looney of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren Patrick and Marshall.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage Wednesday from 6:00 —8:00 PM.
