Kenneth R. Daniel

Kenneth R. Daniels, age 70 of Carthage died Wednesday (May 10, 2017) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Services will be 12:00 noon Monday (May 15, 2017) at Sandhills Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake conducted by Chaplain Brian Murphy.
Born in Pittsburg, PA to the late Thomas and Dorothy Dunn Daniels. He was a US Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam and lived many years of his life in Ohio. He worked in plastics manufacturing for many years and after moving to Moore County 20 years ago worked for Eagle Electric and Pentair in Sanford. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his son, and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast , taking many rides with his wife and his lifelong friend Frank Cochrum.
He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Daniels, III.
He is survived by: his wife Gayle Gregory Daniels, who he married on February 12, 1982, son Shane Daniels and wife Sandy of Lewisville, daughters Shannon Walker of King, NC, Becky Kaylor and husband Joe of Madison, OH, Kathleen Calkins and husband Robert of Broadway; sister Lois Jean Phelps and husband Ray of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren Allie Marie Sheets, Justin Daniels, Chris Daniels, Dakota West, Alyssa Grierson, and Adam Grierson and two great-grandchildren Lilly Sheets and Braiden Sheets.

I served with Ken with the 355TFS at Phu Cat, Vietnam… He was a hard worker and a great Crew Chief on the F100 Super Saber. Rest in Peace.
