Lacy G. Frye

Lacy G. Frye, 91, of Carthage, passed away at his home on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Born in Moore County, he was a son of the late Archie and Callie Mae Frye. 

Lacy served in the United States Army. After being discharged from the military, he was self-employed as an auto detailer and mechanic. He loved all things cars, mowing the grass and helping others every chance he could. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Edith Ring Frye; infant son, Mitchell; siblings: Lois Blue, Loretta Nickens, and Bobby Frye. 

Lacy is survived by his children Karen Frye, Teresa Hipp, Scott Frye and his wife Gina all from Carthage; sister: Carolyn Fowler; grandchildren Callie, Anna, Heidi and Matthew; great grandchildren Lila, Harley, Emmett, Boston, and Nora. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 1 pm at Johnson Grove Cemetery in Vass. 

The family would like to recognize and thank the special people that helped care for their mom and dad over the last several months. Caregivers: Myrtle Ward, Linda Atkins, Kaye Gautier, Sharon Volk, Joyce Stone, Stacey Buie, Sheryl Belton, Dot Bennett, and Linda Ferguson. Hospice nurses: Lawanda, Amber, Neal, and Teresa; hospice volunteer: Elizabeth; and hospice Chaplain Rae.
