Lassie Lucian "Scottie" Scott

Lassie Lucian “Scottie” Scott, Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully on December 29th at his home in Cameron.

A native of Moore County, Scottie was the son of the late Lassie Lucian Scott and Margaret Hardy Scott. Scottie was a veteran of the US Army and Marine Corps. He also served for over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter with Carthage Fire Department (retired) and dedicated over 29 years of his life to his work as a General Superintendent for Sanford Contractors. 

Scottie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Annette Scott, and by his son Adam Scott.

He is survived by his son Ian Scott and wife Pate of Cameron, his sister Ann Lynch and her husband Joe of Cameron, and his brothers Randy Scott and wife Gail of Waxhaw, Jim Scott and wife Catherine of Raleigh, and John Scott of Cameron; daughter in law Jennifer Scott of High Point; grandchildren Cameron Nash and husband Paxton, Lucian Scott, Nate Scott, Mason Scott; great-grandchildren Patrick and Delilah Nash. Nieces Meagan Anne Scott, Erin LeCroy, Catherine Anne Bartee and Nephews Joseph Lynch, Evan Scott, James Scott and John Staton Scott.  

Scottie will be remembered for his dedication to his community, his love for his faith, family, friends and the warmth he shared with everyone who knew him. Those that had the chance to pass through his life can no doubt say their lives were positively influenced.  He loved to build and grow things, his most satisfaction was teaching others how to do the same.  He came from a generation that made our world better.  Words cannot describe the man we were fortunate enough to have known, and will miss greatly. 

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2o26 at Sanford Contractors, 628 Rocky Fork Church Road, Sanford, NC follow by a time of visitation.
