Layton “Tylor” Morris, age 22, of Carthage passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Tylor was born August 26, 2001 in Moore County and was challenged with health issues most of his life. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School and attended Sanford Barber School in 2020 until the school closed during the pandemic. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, car racing and was an NC State Wolfpack fan. Tylor was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by: his mother Jennifer Pate; father Dewayne Morris and wife Gena; sister Jessica Morris; half brother Raymond Pate; step-sister Courtney Hobgood; step-brother Nathan Hobgood and wife Kandace; maternal grandmother Clara Pate; maternal grandfather Donnie Hutchins and wife Pam; paternal grandmother Joan Ragsdale and husband David; paternal grandfather Max Morris and wife Kay; paternal great-grandmother Veder Hurley; niece Lynleigh Allred.
The family will receive friends at Red Branch Baptist Church on Tuesday (May 14, 2024) beginning at 1:00 p.m. and following the service in the church fellowship hall. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Jeff Mitchell and Sammy Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Tylor was a wonderful young man. He was so strong as a boy and young man. He overcame so many health issue in his life but kept on going. He meant the world to us. We loved him so much. We are broken hearted, but know he is in Heaven. No more pain and health problems.

I did not know Tylor, but I do know Grandmother Joan Ragsdale, and Great Grandmother Veder Hurley, my heart go out to them, as well as the rest of the family. He will be missed, but he is free from pain!
