Lee Vance Munnerlyn, age 65, a lifelong resident of Southern Pines passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Jefferson and Margaret McPhatter Mummerlyn. Lee was a US Army Veteran. He retired from IBM as a Process Technician and later worked for Cree, Inc., both in Research Triangle Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Hickmond Munnerlyn and a brother Jeffery D. Munnerlyn.
He is survived by a son Lawrence Hickmond of Southern Pines; sisters-in-law Shirley Siler of High Point, Linda Hickmond of Goldsboro, Eleanor Hardy (Woodrow) of Carthage, Doretha Lynch (Jesse) of Cameron; brothers-in-law Richard Hickmond, Jr. (Nell) of Fredericksburg, VA, Larry Hickmond of Carthage; nephew Jeff Munnerlyn.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
