Lois Kennedy Butler, age 94, of Robbins died Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor. 

A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Charles Richard and Maude Davis Kennedy. She worked in textiles most of her life and was an active member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years. In 2014 she received the Margaret Shields Women on Mission Award. She loved her family,  gardening, square dancing, traveling and the beach.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years James Marion Butler; daughters Kay Butler Dancy and husband Darrell, Myra Butler Cockerham; brother Jack Kennedy and wife Edith; sister in law Eva Mae Kennedy; grandchildren James Tyler Dancy and wife Alison, Jillian Marie Dancy, John Michael Cockerham and wife Elaine, Kelley Cockerham and fiance Cody; three great grandchildren and one expected to arrive in April. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth McNeill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Highfalls United Methodist Church cemetery.
