Louise Muse Blue

Louise Muse Blue, age 84 of Carthage died Monday at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Culdee Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Joseph Washburn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Malcolm Currie Muse and Ruth Tillman Muse. She attended Moore County schools (Carthage), finishing high school the last year they had 11 grades. Louise worked as an insurance secretary with United Insurance Agency and the Wilson Insurance Agency in Robbins before quitting to help her husband on the family farm and to raise their children. She was also preceded in death by her husband J. Sam Blue; a daughter Susan Blue and a grandson Aaron Whitaker.
Louise was a member of Culdee Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School, was Circle Chairman and President of the Women of the Church, a Deacon and Elder. She worked hard in her Eureka Community both on their farm and with her family, and in Sandhills Farmlife School and most especially her Extension Homemakers Club. She was voted Homemaker of the year in 1985 and served her local club and district and state level in many capacities and offices. In 1990 her family was voted 'Outstanding Farm Business Family,' an award given by the Sandhills Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Moore County Historical Society, a member of the board of directors at the Shaw House, Moore County Genealogical Society and served as Muse Reunion Association, Inc. President in 1993 and was a member and supported her husband in the Sept of Blue, Clan MacMillan.
She is survived by: daughters Mary Ruth Whitaker and husband Russell, Patti Burke and husband Wally; son John Blue and wife Vickie all of Carthage; grandchildren Abby W. Governale, Beth F. Ihnatolya, Sam Blue; great grandchildren Will and Olivia Ihnatolya, Preston Whitaker and Gabe Governale; special caretakers, Jill Black, Linda Wittman, Sherry Bennett, Angie Rice and Kathy Stanley.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
