Lucy Moorefield Mawyer, 78, died Saturday December 1, 2012 unexpectedly at her home in Southern Pines.
Services will be held at a later date in Lovingston, Virginia.
Born September 27, 1934 in Farmville, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mattie Moorefield.
Mrs. Mawyer was a Radiation Technician at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville Virginia for 23 years
.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ryland. Mrs. Mawyer is survived by her son Tony Mawyer and wife, Joni of Whispering Pines NC and grandson, Brandon also of Whispering Pines NC.
