Margaret Clark Cirone, age 71 died Tuesday (June 17, 2014) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Eugene Ussery and Pastor John Chavis. Burial will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery.

 

A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Claude M. and Alma E. Jackson Clark. Margaret graduated from Carthage High School and Sanford Business College. She was a former town clerk for the town of Carthage and also worked for over 20 years as town clerk for the town of Vass. For the last several years she was the secretary for the First Baptist Church in Carthage.

 

She is survived by: her daughters Melanie Thomas and Kelly Thomas both of Vass; son Scott Thomas of Cameron; sister Brenda Kay Smith of Carthage and Martha Moore and husband David of Myrtle Beach; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
