Marjorie Ross Barber, 78, of Carthage, passed away at FirstHealth Hospice House on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Born on February 28, 1945, she was a daughter of the late James Evert and Mary Ellen Collins Ross.
Marjorie worked various jobs, but her last job was at Walmart at the snack counter. Marjorie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Jimmy, Johnnie and Jessie Ross.
She leaves behind her husband of almost 43 years: William Marvin “Bud” Barber; brothers: Josel and Jerry Ross both of Carthage; as well as sisters: Joyce Tubbs of Apex and Dorothy Gillis of Roxboro.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October, 12, 2023 at 11 am at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gregg Newton officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 10 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Marjorie was a very sweet, kind, friend from years ago. She was a dedicated Christian. I know she in a better place.
