Mary Edith Baber Kidd, 98, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at ElmCroft of Asheboro.
Edith was born in Moore County. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Edith enjoyed time spent with all her family. Edith worked in textiles and was a homemaker, caring for her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She loved the Lord and was faithful in her church attendance as long as she was able. Edith was a daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha Seawell Baber and was preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Daniel; son: Doyle Kidd; sisters: Lucille Emmons, Carol Williams; brothers: Lester Baber, Ray Baber, Carlis Baber.
Edith is survived by children: Daniel Kidd, Jr. and wife Margaret, Hilda McBryde, Marie Williams and husband Ralph, Sandra Fine and husband Win, Zelda Kidd; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters: Wilma Diedrick, Irma Tessitori, May Callaway; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Putnam Friends Church, with Reverend James Brewer and Reverend Jacelyn Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 at the church.
Memorial may be made to the Putnam Friends Church Cemetery Fund, 136 Putnam Church Road, Carthage, NC 28327.

Aunt Mary Edith was truly a special woman. As my mom said she was “always there”. For her baby brother and sisters when their mom tragically died so young. For her entire family when her son and my cousin Doyle was involved in a fatal accident.
For all of us. We love you Aunt Mary Edith and are envisioning you in Heaven riding around in a pick up with Uncle Daniel and Doyle…..

I’m so grateful to have known such a wonderful lady. She’ll always be in our hearts and I can here her giggles now as we told her what happened in our High School times visiting her.
