Maybelle Ritter Williams

December 20, 1939 ~ September 15, 2025
With deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Maybelle Ritter Williams, 85, of Robbins. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Moore County, on December 20, 1939, she was a daughter of the late James Albert and Alta Reeder Ritter. A devoted wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother, faithful friend, and beloved sister in Christ. She departed this world surrounded by love, just as she lived every day of her beautiful life.
A true servant of the Lord, Maybelle’s faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. Her Bible was worn from nightly readings, and her prayers—always filled with thankfulness for her family and were a constant covering over those she loved. She lived her life with grace, kindness, and a heart so big it seemed to carry everyone she met.
She was a mother to all—whether you were family by blood or simply someone blessed to walk through her front door. Her home was a haven filled with the smell of fresh flowers from her garden, the warmth of a pot of coffee always ready to pour, and the comfort of Little House on the Prairie blaring from every TV. Her famous chicken and dumplings fed not only bellies but souls, and no one ever left her home hungry—especially not her grandchildren or great-grandchildren, who quickly learned that “no” wasn’t in her vocabulary when it came to them.
Maybelle found joy in the simple, sacred rhythms of life. She loved watching hummingbirds and cardinals fluttering outside her windows, tending to her garden, preserving its fruits through canning, and crafting beautiful quilts stitched with love. Gospel singings brought a light to her eyes, and time with family—whether around a Sunday table or a quiet morning with coffee—was her greatest treasure.
She had a way of making everyone feel loved, and welcome. She gave more than she ever took, always placing others above herself with a quiet strength and an unwavering love. Her hands were always busy serving, but her heart was always still—rooted in faith and overflowing with love.
Though we grieve deeply, we rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy of love, faith, and selfless devotion lives on in every life she touched.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Williams; sister: Velma Moore; brother: Arnold Ritter; great grandson: Cole Hunter Williams.
Maybelle is survived by sons: Craig Williams (Cheryl), Darrel Williams (Dougie), Timmy Williams (Vivian); and daughter Lisa Williams, grandchildren: MacKenzie (Michael), Dale (Samantha), Olivia (Daniel), Brannon (Dezeray), Jessica (Matt), Hunter (Emily), and Landon (Hayley); great grandchildren; Cameron, Kirsten, Jaxson, Ashlyn, Brooklyn, Oakley, Chance, Alan, Lily, Eric, Easton, Adaline, Kaiden, Brynley, Baby Williams, and a host of friends and extended family who were all blessed by her warmth and wisdom.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Robbins First Wesleyan Church at 3:00p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Cameron Dockery and Pastor Gerald Hussey. Burial will follow at Smyrna Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
As she often reminded us: “Love one another, and thank the good Lord for all of his many blessings.”

So sorry to hear about your mother’s passing.
She was a sweet lady.
Praying for y’all and your families.
Dear family , so sorry for your loss. I will surely miss the trips with Maybelle, Brenda and mama to Virginia buying quilting material and eating out at Cracker Barrel, such good times and memories. I’m going to miss Maybelle but rejoice the she is with her savior. Prayers for the family, I love you all. Paula and Carl
I was so sorry to hear of cousin Maybelle passing. Her dad and my grandmother Ritter (Mattie) were brother and sister. We used to go to Ritter Reunions when we were younger, and I remember Grandmother would take us to visit her brother at Maybelle’s when he was sick with cancer. She was such a beautiful, sweet, and Christian woman, with such a bright smile for everyone! Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Praying for God’s comfort and peace for you.
Love and prayers for comfort for all who loved her.
Craig, Darrell, Timmy, Lisa and family,
Kim and I are grieved for you all in your loss of Ms. Maybelle. Such a kind, compassionate and encouraging lady. She was always a great support to me as a teacher and principal. She will be missed. May God cradle you all in His loving arms in your grief now and in the days to come. We love you. Kim and Bruce Williams
