Melissa 'Missy' McKenzie Anderson, age 37 of Vass died Monday (May 6, 2013) at her home.
A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Culdee Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Joseph Washburn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
A native of Moore County she was a graduate of Union Pines High School and attended Sandhills Community College. She had previously worked at McDonald's and the Alco in Carthage.
She is survived by: her husband Michael Anderson; son Michael 'Mikey' Anderson, Jr. of the home; mother Sue Bullock McKenzie of Vass; father Dana McKenzie of Southern Pines; brothers Dana C. McKenzie, II of Bristol, VA, Tucker L. McKenzie of Sanford, Tyler Bowen of Huntington, WV; sister Nora Grace McKenzie of Elon; maternal grandparents Lane and Lois Bullock; paternal grandmother Geraldene McKenzie Abrahamsen.
