Michelle Sturdivant McLain, age 51, of Carthage, after a long illness, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie F. and Sallie Vaughn Sturdivant. Michelle worked for 20 years as a medical coder at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. She was known for her love of shopping and her remarkable talent for interior decorating. Christmas was her favorite time of year, a season she embraced with joy and warmth. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends and had a deep appreciation for good music.
Michelle is survived by her beloved husband, Matthew McLain; daughters, Emily A. McLain and her fiancé, Bradley Deaton and Averi E. McLain; son, Ethan M. McLain all of Carthage; sister, Jenny S. Dunn, and her husband, Matthew of Foxfire; and nieces, Laney and Kinsley Dunn.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Fry and Prickett Funeral home.
