Norma L. Almond Poe, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday. December 6, 2021, with her loved ones by her side.
Norma was from Bloomington, California, born November 21, 1934. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Norma was a faithful member of Robbins First Wesleyan Church for over 40 years. She loved the Lord and her church family. Norma worked in the textile industry and also helped her late husband, Fred on the family farm. She enjoyed traveling, bus trips, gospel music and good fellowship. Norma liked to feed the birds in her yard and look at all that God had created. Norma had a love for her pets, especially her cats. Family was always important and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was precious to her. Norma is remembered for helping others, caring for others before herself. Norma was a daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl Boaen Almond and was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred L. Poe, Jr., son: Danny L. Poe.
Norma is survived by daughter: Vickie Hancock and husband Kenneth; son Charles Poe; brother Covey Almond; grandchildren: Brian Hancock, Stacy Seawell and Husband Jonathan; great grandchildren: Joshua, Selah, Natalie, Noah, Gabriel; in-laws: Tommy and Judy Poe; Mary Lou and Fred Barber; many nieces, nephew and friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Robbins First Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Shaun Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM, at the church. The family will also receive friends at home of her daughter, Vickie.
