Mrs. Peggy Lassiter Hussey peacefully passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016.

 

A native of Moore County, she was born September 26, 1932 to the late Walter Deaton and Bonnie Morgan Lassiter. She was very proud of her hometown, Robbins, where she lived and shared her life.

      She was a graduate of Elise High School, Greensboro School of Cosmetology, and Sandhills Community College earning her Teacher's Degree in Cosmetology. After spending many years "beautifying" the ladies of Robbins and the surrounding community, she retired from cosmetology and pursued a career with Farm Bureau Insurance Company.  She retired from Farm Bureau with 24 years of service, earning top honors 24 years as an elite agent in North Carolina.  Post insurance, along with her husband, she focused her energy on their real estate and appraisal business, Central Realty Company.

 

    Peggy was a devout member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Robbins, serving as Chairperson of the Official Board, Finance Committee, Trustees Committee, Fundraising Committee, and Women's Circle. She also served as President of Tabernacle United Methodist Women and Manager of the Maintenance and Endowment Funds.

       "Nana" loved her family!  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Harold Hussey of Robbins, N. C.; daughter, Lynne Hussey Stroud and husband, Dr. Stephen Walter Stroud of New Bern, N.C.; sons, Harold Bradley Hussey and wife, Dr. Elizabeth Kernodle Hussey of Chapel Hill, N.C. and James Bart Hussey and wife, Rachel Wainright Hussey of Burlington, N. C.; six grandchildren, Stephen and Morgan Stroud, William, Sarah, Cason and Carter Hussey; one great grandson, Ryan; sister, Sue Lassiter Singleton and husband, Arnold Singleton of Midland, Georgia; one nephew and one niece.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Kay Lassiter.

      A Celebration of Life will be at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Committal following at the church cemetery.

  Family visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, N. C.
