Phyllis Joy Veale, 92, formerly of Johannesburg, South Africa, passed away peacefully at her home in Jackson Springs NC, July 2, 2016.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
She loved life and family and worked as an accountant in the furniture industry. Phyllis was known for being a great athlete and was an avid golfer with a scratch handicap. She was also an excellent seamstress.
Predeceased by her parents, Henry and Katrina Lahner, she is survived by one daughter, Adele Buytenhuys and husband Darroll of Jackson Springs NC; grandchildren, Clint Buytenhuys and wife Susan of Sacramento CA, Ryan Buytenhuys of Jackson Springs NC, Sheldon Buytenhuys and wife Allison of Potomac Falls VA; and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Artist League of the Sandhills, 129 Exchange Street, Aberdeen NC 28315 or to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst NC 28374.
