Rickey Wayne Poindexter

Rickey Wayne Poindexter of West End passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2019 at the age of 37.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on March 30th at the American Legion, 350 Legion Hut Rd in Carthage. A gathering of family and friends will held immediately following the service.
Rickey was born in Pinehurst on August 1, 1981 to Nancy Travis Batten of West End and Rickey Poindexter of Broadway. Rickey enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and was an excellent cook. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Montana and Carl Furr, Lois Dangerfield and Henry Travis; step-grandfather, Bill Frye.
Along with his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, his twin daughters, Savannah & Haley of West End; his sister, Rebecca Poindexter; his step-father, Rodney Batten of West End; his step-mother, Charlotte Poindexter of Broadway; his step-sisters, Shannon McDonald and her husband Scott of Fletcher, Stephanie Batten of Carthage; his step-grandmother, Marie Batten of West End; his step-grandfather, Verndon Batten and his wife, Caroline of Candor; his aunts and uncles, Patty Jo Campbell, Ronnie and his wife, Phyllis, Randy and his wife, Debbie, Richard and his wife, Lisa, Rex and his wife, Dianne, Robert, Danny and his wife, Shannon, Johnny; 13 nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
The care of the family has been entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home of Aberdeen.
