Robert Bill' Chase

September 16, 1922 ~ July 4, 2013
Robert ' Bill' Alfred Chase, 90, went home, to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 4, 2013, from his home, surrounded by his friends and family. He served his country and was a hero of World War II.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, Robbins, NC. with the Reverend William Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Chase worked for Robbins Mill for over 40 years. He loved working with his hands, especially working with wood. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the son of the late Fred and Alice Freeman Chase. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Karen Beth Upchurch and son in law Ralph Hunsucker.
Bill is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Margaret Holden Chase, daughters: Shelby Hunsucker, of Foxfire, Debra Clark and husband Steve of Greensboro, Lisa Chase, of Robbins; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Kennedy Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Chase family.
