Ronnie Stephen Williams, 74, of Moore County, North Carolina, died on July 4, 2025. Born on December 16, 1950, to Talmadge Lee and Jessie Williams, Ronnie spent his entire life in Moore County, where he built an impressive legacy rooted in hard work, creativity, and a deep connection to the land.

A natural entrepreneur with an independent spirit, Ronnie founded and operated multiple businesses throughout his life, including a landscaping company, a vineyard and winery, a nursery, and an irrigation business. He had a talent for building things from the ground up, whether it was a thriving business or a stretch of land brought to life.

Ronnie was tenacious, creative, strong-willed, and generous. He loved music, hunting, and the quiet beauty of the mountains. He found joy in time with his grandchildren and took pride in what he had built and in the life he lived on his own terms.

He is survived by his devoted and brave wife, Denise; his children: Bradley, Melissa, and Ashley (Eric); his grandchildren: Austin, Morgan, Jordan, Addison, Everett, and Zac; and his siblings: Judy, Brenda, Curtis, and Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge Lee and Jessie Williams.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 26, 2025 at Culdee Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at 2 pm.

Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of determination and grit. He was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed.

Rely on God to help you get through this time of sorrow.. Remember all the good memories.

  3. Ronnie was a smart, kind man. I know how proud Uncle Lee and
Aunt Jessie were of him and his family.

  4. I am so very honored to have spent 20 years of my life knowing Ronnie… he was so much more to me than being my father-in-law… He was a inspiration! We shared many many memories together… we talked philosophy, politics, sports, hard work, and family… always laughing and smiling at life’s many challenges and the beauty within our part of sharing it together. My two children will grow under his legacy, and I will forever be thankful for having him as a father figure. I love you, Ronnie!

  5. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God comfort you during this time.

  8. Denise, so sorry to hear about Ronnie, he has struggled for so long, but that is over and he is at peace. May God bless you and your family and remember the good times!

  9. I love and miss you daddy .Am so thankful God gave us one last ride together and a conversation that at least if nothing else gave us both understanding, I love you. I’m gonna do my best to make you proud with your business.

  10. I have for years appreciated Ronnie’s friendship and I am going to miss him. You could not help but love “Roll”.

  11. Someone called him a “gentle giant”…that is perfect. Years ago my wife and I stopped by his Black Rock winery; I told her to go up to him and say “Hey, Big Roll”, knowing he would not recognize her…he looked at her quizzically and I came on in and said “Hello old friend” (didn’t know if he would recognize me, but he did). We had lots of fun on our beach trips…I couldn’t beat him in drinking beer…and he couldn’t beat me in doing handstands…cousin Tommy Williams can explain that one.

Big Roll…see you on the other side. Condolences to the entire family.

  13. I remember when Uncle Ronnie bought that land. He was telling us “it’s real rocky but I’ve done some research and that’s good for growing grapes I think that’s what I’m gonna do” he said “I’m gonna grow some grapes and make me some homemade wine” And by God that’s what he done!!! He definitely lived life on his own terms!!! He was one of a kind and always good to me!!! Fly Uncle Ronnie till we meet again I love you!!!

  14. We send our love and prayers to Denise and family always. Ronnie was a good, kind and loving man whom we cherished and we are deeply saddened at his passing.
