Scott Dunlap

April 17, 1964 ~ September 8, 2025
In loving memory of Lewis Scott “Dude” Dunlap age 61 of Robbins, NC. Scott passed away in the early morning of September 8, 2025. He was born on April 17, 1964 to the late Boyce and Dixie Dunlap of Robbins. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Glenn H. Dunlap (wife, Pam) of Pinehurst, nephew, Austin Dunlap (wife, Meaghann) of Charlotte, niece, Alicia Dunlap Oakes (husband, Nathan) and great niece, Rowan Oakes of Pinehurst. He also had many cousins and good friends that he loved spending time with in the area.
Scott graduated from Randolph Community College with a degree in Commercial Graphic Design and worked in this field in his early career. Later in life he went to work for Southern Supreme and as a substitute teacher until he developed COPD and became disabled.
Scott loved drawing and photography and often gave gifts to family and friends using these talents. He was an avid fisherman and if he was not at home you could find him in his canoe fishing in Bear Creek.
Scott was devoted to his family, friends, church and God. He will be greatly missed leaving a hole in our hearts and lives . We find comfort knowing he is now resting in the loving arms of Jesus. He requested that the service be casual dress as he was most comfortable wearing blue jeans.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to his church, Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, who loved him well.
Cerebration of Life service will be 11 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with Reverend Vic Hill officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Following the service lunch will be provided in the church fellowship hall.

We were saddened to hear of Scott’s passing, but are rejoicing that he is with the Lord and no longer suffering and in pain! Because he placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal savior he is enjoying a happy reunion with all his family and friends that have gone on before him! While these last few weeks have been hard, Scott remained in good spirits and fought a courageous battle! He was a very special friend, brother, and son for many years to our family and his presence will be greatly missed! He was a talented artist and the paintings and drawings he gifted us will always be cherished. We will always remember him as having a special way of brightening anyone’s day and spreading laughter and happiness everywhere he went!
Our prayers are with each of you today and in the days to come as we all adjust to life on this earth without Scott, but we will rejoice in knowing that we can see him again some sweet day in Heaven if we choose Jesus Christ as our savior!
Love,
Debbie and Loretta
