Shannon Leigh Gilmore, age 26 of Carthage passed away Saturday, (October 10) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Eureka Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Edward L. Boyce and the Rev. David Coffey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday and other times at the home.

 

Shannon’s parents Danny and Jennifer Thomas Gilmore were blessed by her birth on July 18, 1989 and she graduated from Union Pines High School on 2007. Shannon loved her three children, Hunter, Eymber, Avery and her brother Ryan with all her heart.

 

She worked at the The Sly Fox Pub for a long time, until recently when she began working at Rhett’s Restaurant in Southern Pines. Shannon never lost her passion to do anything she wanted to do in life.  Her love for others was infectious and her beauty was beyond compare.

 

She was preceded in death by: her grandfathers Eddie J. Thomas, Jr. and Joe Gilmore both of Carthage.

 

In addition to her parents, children and brother Shannon is survived by her grandmother's Jeanette Cash Thomas and Betty K. Prim both of Carthage. She also leaves behind many loving aunts and uncles as well as many cousins and friends. She was so very loved by her family who find peace knowing that in their loss heaven has gained such a beautiful new angel.
