Thayne Peter Tubbs

He is remembered as a humble, sweet, kind, and even-tempered man who cherished his family, especially his granddaughters. He has been attending Apex Baptist Church since 2003. At the age of 17, T.P. joined the Air Force and served his country honorably.  He later retired in 1999 as a computer technician from General Electric (GE), a career that allowed him to travel the world, which he enjoyed enormously.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Ross Tubbs; his son, James and Lindah Tubbs of Garner, North Carolina; his daughter, Joan Ragan of Apex, North Carolina; and his two granddaughters, Abby and Faith Ragan of Apex, North Carolina.

T.P. was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Leon Tubbs, Donald Tubbs, and Ted Tubbs.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Carthage, North Carolina. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service commencing at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, accompanied by military honors. Pastor Gregg Newton will be officiating.
