Thomas “Tommy” Jefferson Moore Jr., 76,  passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family.

Tommy was a native of Moore County, a son of the late Thomas Moore Sr. and Violet Hall Garner.  He worked in the textile industry for many years.  He loved his family and time spent with them was very important.  He was especially proud of his granddaughter, Maycee.  Tommy liked to care for his yard and grow vegetables in the garden, to share with family and friends. He loved animals, especially his cats. Tommy was a quiet man, always ready to share a smile.   

Tommy is survived by wife of  54 years, Carolene; son: Anthony Moore; daughter: Michelle Kimball; granddaughter: Maycee; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Smyrna United Methodist Church, with Dr. Jerome Smith and Reverend Edwin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sorry to hear about the death of Tommy,we have been friends all our lives, his mother and father were good friends with my mother and father.Recently talking with Tommy he said he had something he wanted to show me ,took out his billfold and showed me a picture of my brothers W.C Shields and James Shields.True friends are hard to find these days in Tommy we had a true friend. Will be remembering the family in my prayers.

  7. Thoughts and prayers to the family. I did not know him personally but he would always greet me with a friendly hello and always had a smile to share. Tommy would stop in to see my brother Frankie and the two would sit and share stories. If those oak trees could talk. I’m sure friends gathered to meet again. The stories they have yet to be told. Rest in peace Tommy.
