Thomas Kent Steed, known affectionately to all as Tommy, was born on January 18, 1983, in Moore County, North Carolina, and passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the age of 42. Tommy lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and a genuine care for everyone he met.

Tommy attended Pinecrest High School and by profession, was a talented painter and a skilled handyman, known for his meticulous work and his readiness to help others. Even after a motorcycle accident left him disabled, he continued to inspire those around him with his resilience and positivity.

Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold T. Steed and Doris Connell Steed. He is survived by his daughters, Destiny Steed of Aberdeen, Adreyana Diaz of West End and Isabelle McVay; son Zachary Andrews; his mother and step-father, Patricia Gibson and Sean Gibson Sr. of Carthage; his brothers, William Powers of Holly Ridge, Jason Gibson of Vass, and Sean Gibson Jr. of Flat Rock; his sisters, Danielle Robinson of Norwood, OH and Lisa Bullard of Pinebluff; grandchildren, Chance Steed and Harmony Guinn.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Rocky Fork Christian Church in Cameron. A private burial will follow at a later date.

Tommy’s legacy of kindness and his unwavering spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
