William Robert 'Bob' Moore, 91, of Carthage, died peacefully at his home Saturday morning, March 2, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Culdee Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Joseph Washburn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late William L. and Jeanette Black Moore. He was an Army veteran and retired as regional maintenance supervisor for N.C. Department of Correction. Bob was a farmer and a vegetable gardener who lovingly shared with friends and neighbors. After retirement, he worked part-time with Fry and Prickett Funeral Home for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Almond Moore; sisters, Doris Moore, Lois McKenzie, Annie Belle Almond and Margaret Ludwig.
He is survived by his daughter, Janie Moore Taylor and husband, Ed, of Carthage; son Robin Moore and wife, Gloria, of West End; grandchildren, Brian Taylor (Vikkie), Olathe, Kan.; Michael Taylor (Lindsey), Plano, Texas, Christina Tillman (Tony), West End.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., and other times at the residence and following the service.
