Warren Giles Tillman, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Pinelake Nursing Center.
Memorial service, with Military Honors, will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Putnam Friends Church, with the Reverend Robert Kidd and Reverend Billy Joe Brady officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 PM.
Warren was a native of Moore County. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked in textiles for many years, retiring from Carthage Fabrics. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he enjoyed time spent with his family. Warren loved the Lord and his church. He was a faithful Sunday School Superintendent for over 33 years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Carolina football and basketball fan. Warren was a son of the late Millard Filmore “Bud” and Dorothy Mildred Warren Tillman and was preceded in death by wife and mother of their children: Jean Franzette Haltom Tillman.
Warren is survived by his wife; Thelma; daughters: Renee’ Steel and husband Paul, Jill Oldham and husband Glenn; grandchildren: Jason Steel, Caleb Steel and wife Kenisha, Olivia Oldham, Luke Oldham; great grandchildren: Brielle Hooker, Clark Steel; and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Putnam Friends Church, 136 Putnam Church Road, Carthage, NC 28327.
