William M. Munroe

August 14, 1928 ~ February 2, 2017
William (Bill) Macan Munroe, age 88 of Whispering Pines died Thursday (February 2, 2017) at his home.
A native of Perth Amboy, NJ he was a son of the late Kenneth H. Munroe, and Elizabeth Robinson Macan Munroe. Bill attended elementary and high schools in New Jersey, New York and Delaware. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Maryland College and a Masters of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).
Bill served in the US Army as a Combat Infantry Officer in the Korean War and was twice decorated for valor. He worked for Bell Telephone Company (now Verizon) in Pennsylvania for more than 30 years and upon retiring, in 1983 he moved to Whispering Pines.
On February 16, 1952 Bill married Madeline Virginia “Maggie” Graham, and would have in just a few days celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together. Their years together were good years and through them are many wonderful memories to cherish. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him well, especially for his sense of humor and kindness.
Bill will be inurned at Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.
