Mrs. Gale shared the following poem with me during the time I worked with her at PFHS, since I grew roses and would bring them to her classroom to share her love for roses and her love for her students. She shared her great insight on teaching students. I used her great words of insight as I began my 30 years as as classroom teacher.
“If We Would Have Roses”
He who would have beautiful roses
In his garden must have beautiful roses in his heart
He must love them well and always.
He must love not only the glowing admiration,
The enthusiasm, and passion, but the
tenderness, the thoughtfulness, the reverence
the watchfulness of love.
