My uncle Phil was the greatest..im so glad I got to spend time with him. We always laughed so hard. Sometimes we didn’t get to see each other often but we were never far from each other either. Loved him so much as my uncle. So many many memories from childhood to adulthood 😢 love you uncle phil!!! See you one day on the other side â¤

Phil and I have been friends for over fifty five years. Though we were often separated by miles over the years we maintained constant contact. We were introduced in early high school by our mutual friend Larry McCroskey and often referred to as the three amigos. Phil, Larry and I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and though we were separated by duty assignments we maintained contact throughout our service. The tree of us all served in combat in Viet Nam but all managed to return home. Phil and I actually crossed paths in Danang, Viet Nam and were able to spend a couple hours together sharing a beer and talking about home. Phil worked for me for a time in Sioux Falls, SD. I can say, not only was Phil a great friend he was an exemplary co-worker. Phil and I enjoyed riding our motorcycles and made many road trips including the Sturgis Rally. I am grateful to have spent last winter out east and was able to make many trips to Pinehurst and spend quality time with Phil including a tour of the Marine Corps Museum with Phil and his daughter Kelly. I just wish I could have beat him at golf which I never could. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of loss. I am grateful for the many caregivers who supported Phil during his battle, especially his neighbors Crystal and Shawn and their children who tirelessly responded to Phil’s every need. Rest in Peace my friend, rest in peace. I’ll see you in the hereafter.
