Edwin Blane Moore

Edwin Blane Moore, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.

He was a son of the late Worthy Moore and Mary Louise Moore. A true outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting, and spending time in nature. He found joy in the outdoors and shared that love with his family throughout his life. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh, and most everyone who met him liked him instantly. He also loved to cook, and it was nothing out of the ordinary for him to have a full meal cooking at two o’clock in the morning for whoever was hungry enough to join him. Above all, he taught his children the importance of loving one another deeply, forgiving quickly, standing up for themselves and for each other, and keeping family close — lessons that remain with them today. He was a simple man who loved his family. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother Randy Moore 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah;  children: Karen Horner, Sharon Moore, Darrick Strickland, Donna Moore, Tina Capps, Eddie Moore; 21 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother: Mary Louise Moore; brother: Donnie Moore; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

No services are planned, as was his request.
