A.R. (Junior) Baxley, age 75 of 469 Monroe Rd., died Tuesday (July 5, 2006).
Funeral services 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Morrison. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late A. Roscoe and Hattie Pearl Baxley. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of Robbins Post 9245 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as a deacon of Red Branch Baptist church and was superintendent of the church cemetery. He retired after thirty-eight years of service with the N. C. Department of Transportation.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Carlyle Baxley; a daughter Robin Boyd and husband Jerry Waylon Boyd of Carthage; a son Roger Baxley and wife Judy of Cameron; a sister Faye House of Madison Wisconsin; two brothers Roger Baxley of Fort Valley, GA and Charles Baxley of Ciessita, GA; five grandchildren Brandon Baxley and wife Melissa, Amanda B. Williams and husband Tom, Matthew Baxley, Justin Boyd and Jason Boyd; two great-grandchildren.
