Aaron Gabriel Whitaker, age 24 recently of Goldston and formerly of Carthage died Wednesday (April 11, 2007) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Culdee Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Chris Bobo. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore he was a son of Russell and Mary Ruth Blue Whitaker. He was a graduate of Union Pines class of 2000. He graduated from Sandhills Community College criminal justice program and BLET in 2002. Upon graduation he worked for a brief time as an auxiliary officer for the Carthage Police Department then with the Moore County Sheriffs Department until 2006. In February he went to work with Chatham County Sheriffs Department where he was still employed.
In addition to his parents he is survived by: a son Preston Ryan Whitaker; sister Abby and husband Luke Governdale of Charlotte.
The family will friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage from 6:00 —8:00 PM Thursday and other times at the residence of Russell and Mary Ruth Whitaker, 5836 NC Highway 22, Carthage.
