Adrian Edward Ferguson, 76, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June, 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia with a graveside service Saturday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. in Old Bethesda Cemetery, Aberdeen, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors after the South Carolina service and at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Mr. Ferguson was born September 9, 1934 at Moore Memorial Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He is the son of the late Archie Franklin Ferguson and Esther Brigman Ferguson. He spent much of his youth in Forsyth County, North Carolina where he attended Walkertown High School and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church. Following his education, Mr. Ferguson worked for Merita Bread Company and Holsum Bakery in Winston-Salem. In recent years, Mr. Ferguson has lived in a group home supported first by the Babcock Center and more recently Chesco Services.
He is survived by his brother Leland Ferguson, sister-in-law Aline Ferguson, nephew Samuel Ferguson, niece Amy Ferguson as well as the caring staff and residents of Kensington I, 100 Kensington Rd., Columbia, South Carolina.
