Alice Lambeth Hill, 92, passed away on February 10th at The Masonic Eastern Star Home in Greensboro.
Alice was born on October 18, 1916 in Sanford, North Carolina. She graduated from Woman's College in Greensboro and taught in the public school system in Carthage, NC for 30 years.
She was a gracious southern lady who always welcomed family and friends into her home. She loved to travel, enjoyed bridge with her friends, and fish club on Friday evenings. After retiring, she devoted more time to painting with water colors.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Annie Lambeth, sister Lucy Melvin and brother, Ben Lambeth.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Willard B. Hill of Greensboro; daughter Donna Hill White and husband, Terry S. White of Greensboro, North Carolina and son, W. Byron Hill and wife, Judy B. Hill of Greensboro, North Carolina and grandsons, Jeremy Hill and David Hill, wife Kristin Hill of Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held at the Carthage United Methodist Church at 2 pm on Saturday, February 14th with the Reverend Chuck Plowman officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1-1:45 pm. A private burial will be held in Jonesboro, North Carolina after the service. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at The Masonic & Eastern Star home for their care and thoughtfulness. Memorials may be made to Carthage Methodist Church.
