Alice Purvis Baber 87,  died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 surrounded by her family.

 

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend Lindsay Collins, Reverend Jim Stalnaker and Reverend Dale Matthews officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

A native of Moore County.  She loved the Lord and her church. She helped with the annual Chicken Stew Supper and many other projects at the church. She loved to embroider and enjoyed making baby quilts for her family, She loved working in her flower garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

 

Alice was a daughter of the late Clarence Lyndon and Nusie Kidd Purvis.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Lester Baber;  infant son: Carlton brothers: Wesley and Vernon Purvis

 

Alice is survived by daughters: Delilah Brooks and husband Paul of Pinebluff, Debra Ritter and husband Wesley, of Biscoe; son: Danny Baber, of the home; sister: Dot English; brother: Robert Purvis; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

 

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday July 25, 2014 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and at other times at the home.
