Alma McLeod Cagle of Lenoir, formerly of Carthage, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Red Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott McInnis and the Rev. D. C. Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was born October 26, 1920 in Montgomery County. Her husband, Johnny Earl Cagle, preceded her in death. Alma operated a fabrics store in Carthage for several years. She was a strong Christian lady who faithfully served her Lord and was a witness to many people.
Survivors are: children Allen & Laura Cagle of Carthage, Sue Thompson of Lenoir, Roger & Paula Cagle of Carthage and Linda & Wesley Gray of Lenoir; eight brothers and sisters: Paul McLeod, Rex McLeod, Odell McLeod, Hubert McLeod, Ray Von McLeod, Edna Reynolds, Ruby Davis, Loretta Garner; grandchildren Brad Cagle, Scott Cagle, Keith Gray, Connie Thomas, Kelly Clark, Dean Gray, Tracy Gray, Kevin Cagle and Brian Cagle; nine great grandchildren.
Her seven grandsons will honor their grandmother by serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will follow the funeral service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Allen Cagle.
