Alvin Dean Holder, age 61 of Carthage died Saturday (January 19, 2013) at the FirstHealth Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Powell Funeral Chapel in Southern Pines. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Gregg Newton. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home prior to the service beginning at noon.
He was a native of Moore County and as a son of the late Jackie Alvin Holder. He worked for many years as an electrician for Chilsom Electric in Aberdeen.
He is survived by: four daughters and three sons; his mother Lucille Scarboro Holder Danley of Carthage; sisters Yvonne Holder of Whispering Pines and Patsy Martin of Vass; three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to: the Alvin Holder memorial fund; BB&T, Southern Pines, or any other BB&T branch location.
Powell Funeral Home is assisting the Holder Family.

I loved my cousin Alvin.I have alot of fun great memories with him and my family! Im so very sorry to hear about his passing.I’ve been just sitting here thinking of the young years we had with our uncles and stuff! My prayers are with his mom and sisters
