Anita Hardy Blue

Anita Hardy Blue, 74, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Anita was a native of Moore County. She was a devoted, loving, and hardworking wife and mother. She enjoyed working outside, and spent many years alongside her husband managing the family tobacco farm. She will be remembered by many for her warm heart, beautiful smile and friendly conversations.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years: Thaddeus L. Blue Jr.
She is survived by her parents: Robert and Valeria Hardy of Carthage; three daughters: Laura and husband Phillip Mashburn of Carthage, Amy and husband Brandon Brown of Raleigh, and Elizabeth and husband Wes Caddell of Carthage; brother: Robert Dean Hardy of Jamestown, NC; grandchildren: Noah Mashburn, Maven Brown, Tad Caddell, Max Brown, Lila Mae Caddell.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 3 PM at Eureka Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Anita’s loving and dedicated home caregivers, as well as the staff at FirstHealth Hospice for the care and support they provided to the entire family.
Memorial contributions may be made to FirstHealth Hospice of Pinehurst.

Anita’s family and mine were such good friends as we were growing up. Many fond memories of family meals together with Dean, Robert and Valeria.
I remember how she adored and loved her husband, Thad so much from an early age .

So many sweet memories and talks with my precious friend Anita.. We shared so many secrets and each knew it would go no farther.. She was a large part of my childhood and we always had a bond.. I loved her with all my heart..No matter how long it was between visits.. we just picked up where we left off. . our families were always close and I cherish that very much..She and Thad were meant for each other and had a beautiful life together .. God blessed them with 3 beautiful daughters who grew up to have beautiful families and Anita was so proud of them all.. I miss you already sweet friend but know there will be a blessed reunion soon.. until then.. enjoy all the splendor of heaven.. love and prayers and gratitude to Laura, Amy, and Elizabeth and the sweet caregivers that took care of my precious friend.. I was so sorry to read this morning of Anita’s passing. My condolences to her daughters and her entire family. I have fond memories of Anita from my youth. She drove our school bus and I thought she was so beautiful. And she was. Later she married Thad and began having you three girls. How she loved you three. She always had that beautiful smile and laugh. I know you will miss her. Prayers for comfort and peace,
