Mrs. Ann Mofield Rogers of 1197 Firetower Road, Ellerbe passed from this earth to her heavenly home on February 28, 2018.  Mrs. Rogers was born January 26, 1935 in Moore County to Dallas and Bertha Mofield.

Mrs. Rogers worked for Proctor Silex before starting her years of service as a Firetower Operator for the North Carolina Forestry Service, where she worked for 25 years.  She also loved working for the Richmond Memorial Hospital in the dietary department, which fulfill her passion of making her way to people’s hearts, not just by cooking for them, but by simply loving them.

She loved her family and held then dear to her heart.  She was the happiest when her entire family was at her home and she was ensured they were full of chicken and dumplings and pig pickin’ cake.  She loved her church family.  If there was a church event or outing, you could count on Ann and Rayon being there and helping where they were needed.  She will be deeply missed by both her family and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters: Betty Lambert, Mary Ruth Bryant, and Etta Caddell. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harden and Gene Mofield.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Mr. Thadis Rayon Rogers, of the home.  Daughters, Mary Rogers Butler and husband Randall, of Albemarle, Rachel Rogers Fraley and husband Buck, of Mt Gilead, Lillian Rogers Maner and husband Carey “Birddog”, of Ansonville, and Karen Rogers Martin and husband Wesley, of Troy.  Grandchildren: Khristina Buczynski and husband Shawn, of Albermarle, Kimberly Butler, of Albemarle, Tara Hamrick and husband Buck, of New London, Derrick Blevins and wife Emily, of Mt Gilead, Brandon Blevins and wife Patricia, of Mt Gilead, Carey Maner, of Ansonville, Shannon Maner, of Ansonville, Paul Maner and wife Stephanie, of Ansonville, Adam Maner, of Cary and a total of 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday March 3, 2018 at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, NC.  The Celebration of Ann’s Life will be at 3 PM, Sunday March 4, 32018 at Priest Hill Presbyterian, 2792 Old River Road, Carthage, NC, with Pastor and friend Archie Stevens officicating.

The family will receive friends at other times, at the home.
