Anna Seward Ragsdale, age 96 of 1902 Niagara-Carthage Road died Tuesday (July 31, 2007) at St. Joseph of the Pines Rehabilitation Center in Southern Pines.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church of which she was the oldest living member. The Rev. Steven Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late William and Ellie Monroe Seward. For many years she worked as a bookkeeper for Carthage Tractor and Implement Company. She was a widow of the late C.L. Ragsdale and was also preceded in death by a son Marshal Ragsdale, a daughter Carol Salzwedel and a grandson Greg Ragsdale.
Survivors include: sons Bertice Ragsdale and wife Mary of Carthage and David Ragsdale and wife Joan of Carthage; sister Sarah Michael of Southern Pines; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
