Arnold Calvin "Bus" Thomas, 87, of 232 Thomas Place West End died Monday, December 8, 2008 at his home following a short illness
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM , Wednesday, December 10 at Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church in West End with the Reverend Eric Joyce officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Burial will follow at Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church cemetary.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday December 9, at Frye and Prickett Funeral Home other times at 232 Thomas Place in West End.
Bus was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Caddell Thomas and a granddaughter, Julie Lisa Thomas of Charlotte. He is survived by One son Ronald Gill Thomas and wife Patricia of Charlotte, three daughters, Brenda Thomas Blakely and husband Donnie and Debbie Thomas Coleman of West End and Anne Puckett of Charlotte, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One sister Lena Thomas McInnis of West End, one sister in law, Irene Horner and husband John of Burlington, NC
Bus was a retired farmer, and retired from Stanley Furniture in West End. He was an avid baseball pitcher in his younger years and continued to follow it closely. His favorite hobby was hunting.
