Barbara Ann Taubersmith

In the early morning of November 26, Barbara Taubersmith passed away peacefully, with her husband and loving family nearby.

She was born on July 18, 1928 in York, Pennsylvania, to the late Beatrice (Diehl) and Edgar Brandt.  She is survived by her sister Jacqueline Marquardt of Gettysburg and is preceded in death by a daughter Alice, and brothers Martin (Buddy) and David Brandt.

She was happily married to Bernard Taubersmith, formerly of Washington DC and Pinellas Park, Florida, for 72 years.

They moved to Pinehurst in 2006 to be near their son Charles (daughter-in-law Darlind) and daughter Kimberly (son-in-law Michael) Morrow of Charlotte.  She is also survived by daughter Barbara Lynn Taubersmith of Washington, DC, and Jacqueline Herbst (son-in-law Richard) from Keller, Texas.  Mrs. Taubersmith leaves behind four grandsons: Brandt and Jared Morrow (wife Hannah and great granddaughter Preslee), and Erik and Kyle Herbst.  She had great maternal pride and joy in her family.

She was a graduate of Anacostia High School and a member of Alpha Beta Chi sorority. She was a proud wife and mother and a member of Our Savior Church in Southern Pines, where she volunteered and made many lasting friendships.

Mrs. Taubersmith leaves behind a bountiful legacy evident in the loyal and loving care provided by her husband and children during the past few months.  She often commented on how fortunate she was to have such a generous and compassionate family.

She was an avid bird watcher, tending to the bluebird boxes and many feeders in the yard.  She loved to perform gardening work with her husband and reveled in all bird species who visited.  She loved to read, updating a log of all the books she had read.  She also enjoyed board games, which she played with the family.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Elmcroft of Southern Pines for their on-going support and care this year.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation could be made to the FirstHealth Hospice in her memory.

A memorial service is being planned at a future date.

Fry-Prickett is assisting the family.

  1. Hey there my name is name! First of all congratulations this is a really well written article, I actually learned a thing or two. I am a mother of two boys, James 6 years old and Lucas 2 years old. I Just wanted to get your opinion on something – I was just reading this review of an online child reading system over at http://bit.ly/38vxhf4 and that woman reviewing this system shows a 18 month child reading like 5 years old. I Would love to know what you think about it and what you think about this system she review..are you familiar with it? Thanks in advance! Can’t wait to hear your reply as I’m thinking about giving a try the system she recommends. My kids are my life and I want to provide them a better future.

  2. Both chains are deploying a robot named Model-T, developed by Japanese startup Telexistence. Seven feet tall when extended to its full height, the robot moves around on a wheeled platform and is kitted out with cameras, microphones and sensors. Using the three “fingers” on each of its two hands it can stock shelves with products such as bottled drinks, cans and rice bowls.
