Barbara Phillips Diver, age 71, of Sanford and formerly of Glendon died December 17, 2023, at home in Sanford.

A native of Moore County, she was the first born of Johnsie Phillips and the late Eugene Phillips. Barbara grew up in Glendon and was a member of Cool Springs Church, later becoming a member of Tyson Creek Baptist Church, where she was baptized. She graduated from North Moore High School in 1970. She worked in accounts payable and collections for many years, most recently she was a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.

She is survived by her two children; Laura Diver of Sanford, Micah Diver of Glendon two grandchildren Alexander Bello of Sanford, Emma Van Houten her mother: Johnsie Phillips of Glendon, her siblings: Rebecca Maddox of Sanford, David(Teresa) Phillips of Glendon, Cheryl(Mark) Purvis of Bennett, and Mark Phillips of Glendon.

The family would like to give thanks for all those that have provided care to Barbara through this journey. The love and support given have truly assisted the family with this transition.

A visitation will be 1-2PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Tyson Creek Baptist Church in Bear Creek. The service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor Scott Walker officiating, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
