Belinda Frye Johnson, born on February 14, 1963—a true Valentine’s baby—to Pastor Coy Lee Frye and Ruth Williams Frye, entered her heavenly home on May 17, 2026.
Belinda’s love for Jesus was the foundation of her life. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she set a Christ‑centered example for everyone around her.
Belinda deeply loved her family: her brothers JC and Gerald, her sisters‑in‑love Kelly and Jean, and her beloved nieces and nephew Kelcie Frye Holloway (Chris), Conner Frye, Harrisen Frye (Kaylee), and Evanne Frye. She was also cherished by many members of her husband Gene Johnson’s family, as well as numerous cousins and dear lifelong friends.
An avid animal lover, Belinda always had pets by her side. Her treasured Boston Terrier, Trinity, never left her during her years of courageously fighting cancer and brought her comfort and companionship through every moment.
At sixteen, Belinda began working in jewelry repair and retail at The Glitter Box, later continuing at Brenda’s Jewelers. She went on to serve many years as a teller at Richmond Savings Bank.
In 1979, Belinda married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Johnson. They shared 36 beautiful years together before his passing. Belinda is also preceded in death by her beloved parents, Coy and Ruth Frye.
Belinda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and her boundless love for her family, friends, and animals. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will be cherished forever.A graveside service, led by Pastor Gregg Newton, will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 1105 Morganton Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
