Betsy Scott Hussey 79, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Smyrna United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with Reverend David Woodhouse and Reverend Edwin Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 and at other times at the home.

Betsy was born in Moore County and was a 1958 graduate of Westmoore High School. She worked for Southern Garment for over 25 years and then worked with her husband, Jack in the mobile home business. Betsy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a very talented lady who loved, making baskets, caning chairs and crocheting.  Her family and friends will remember her love of making jelly and baking, especially german chocolate cakes. Betsy enjoyed gospel music, playing the piano and helping others. She was kind and gracious to everyone. She also enjoyed fishing trips with Jack. Betsy was a daughter of the late Claude and Ella Moore Scott and was preceded in death by siblings: Kathy Abdo, Geneva Dunlap and Juanita Maness.

Betsy is survived by husband of 59 years Jack; daughters: Annette Hussey, Joanne Starbuck and husband Rex, Donna Berger; grandchildren: Scarlett Howell and husband Wesley, Samatha Ross, Kelsey Hussey, Jackie Berger; great grandson: Mason  sister: Judy Burns; brother: Buster Scott and wife Muriel; many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 203 Smyrna Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
